Net Positive Consulting Engineers served as Prime Consultant to Fresno Unified School District for the comprehensive HVAC modernization at Starr Elementary School. The project upgraded mechanical systems campus-wide, including three custom air-handling units, twenty-five variable-air-volume (VAV) boxes with hot water reheat coils, a new air-cooled chiller, condensing boiler, primary hydronic pumps, four gas/electric packaged units, two split system furnace/fan coil units, and four wall-mounted heat pumps.
In addition to mechanical design, the project included plumbing design for gas and condensate systems supporting the new HVAC infrastructure. Net Positive led a full consultant team, architectural, structural, and electrical providing coordination, DSA documentation management, and construction-phase support from design through closeout.
The modernization enhances system efficiency, reliability, and long-term maintainability while aligning with FUSD standards for DSA-reviewed campus upgrades. The result is a fully integrated mechanical system that supports comfort, air quality, and operational consistency across the elementary school campus.
