Net Positive was the design engineer of record for the mechanical, plumbing and commissioning services on this new single-story classroom and technology building focused on centralizing specific student support services at the Visalia Campus. The mechanical design of this was especially intricate as it had to meet several goals for noise and energy performance, which resulted in additional funding. The mechanical solution featured combinations of variable refrigerant flow (VRF) air handlers, roof top packaged dedicated outside air units, sound attenuation devices, and vibration isolation curbs.
The project maintains noise levels between NC40-NC43 and beat 2019 Title-24 by 15%. HVAC systems consisting of package gas/electric units used for all classroom and multi-purpose room spaces: 8 new buildings totaling 90,879 SF.
