Net Positive Consulting Engineers provided full mechanical design services for the reconfiguration of the central chilled water plant at Clovis East High School. The project eliminated the existing thermal ice storage, water-cooled chillers, and cooling towers, replacing them with high-efficiency air-cooled chillers and associated pumps, valves, and hydronic specialties.

The new design simplified plant operations, reduced maintenance demands, and improved system reliability while aligning with the District’s energy and performance goals. Net Positive led all phases of design development and DSA coordination, including Title 24 documentation, construction documents, and subconsultant management for architectural, electrical, and structural disciplines.

What sets this project apart is the compressed schedule that required simultaneous design with equipment procurement, followed by simultaneous construction planning and mobilization while obtaining DSA approval. Net Positive worked closely with the district and the design-build contractor to ensure the project goals were obtained, DSA regulations were met, and systems were on-line in time for school.  Total schedule duration was 7 months including design and construction.
