Turn Design Into Reality

At Net Positive Consulting Engineers, our Construction Administration team plays a critical role after the drawings are issued. This position is for someone who can manage multiple active projects, communicate confidently with clients and contractors, and keep the construction process moving from bidding through final closeout.

You’ll work closely with our Engineers of Record, Project Managers, clients, owners, contractors, and consultants – solving problems, tracking decisions, and helping ensure that what was designed is successfully delivered in the field.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the bidding and construction administration phases of multiple moderate to complex projects.
  • Serve as a primary point of communication with clients, owners, contractors, and project teams.
  • Participate in project handoff meetings, constructability reviews, pre-bid meetings, job walks, preconstruction conferences, and project closeout.
  • Track and respond to bid RFIs, construction RFIs, submittals, substitution requests, change orders, and other project correspondence.
  • Prepare and coordinate addenda, proposal requests, supplemental instructions, and construction change directives for review and approval.
  • Review construction schedules, schedules of values, as-built drawings, and other contractor documentation.
  • Conduct regular site observations and prepare clear, professional field reports.
  • Help identify scope changes, potential cost impacts, construction issues, and items requiring involvement from the Engineer of Record.
  • Support owners in navigating claims, disputes, punch lists, completion items, and project closeout.
  • Coordinate final punch lists, closeout documentation, required certifications, and completion milestones on prime projects.
  • Prioritize multiple active projects based on deadlines, construction schedules, and client needs.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of construction management, construction administration, or project oversight experience.
  • PMP certification required; candidates actively pursuing the PMP must obtain it within the first six months.
  • Strong ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to navigate difficult or technical conversations professionally.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and the judgment to know when an issue should be elevated to the Engineer of Record.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple project deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with HVAC, electrical, fire sprinkler, controls, AutoCAD, or Revit is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation for regular project travel.

What To Expect

This position combines office-based project management with regular time in the field. Site visits are a routine part of the role and may include active construction sites, rooftops, ladders, trenches, and other areas requiring adherence to project safety requirements.

A typical schedule is Monday through Friday, though project demands may occasionally require overtime or weekend work. Independent travel to project sites is required, and the position may involve lifting standard file boxes weighing up to 25 pounds.

If you enjoy solving problems, keeping projects organized, working directly with clients and contractors, and seeing a project through from bid day to final completion, this is an opportunity to take real ownership of the construction process.
